Hi mamas, I’m Julia!

 

Born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, I’m the creator of Fly Ass Dog Mom and a proud dog mama who believes you can love the hell out of your dog without losing yourself in the process.

My journey began on Christmas Eve in 2019, when I brought Onyx home. I thought I was getting a dog; instead, I got a four-legged muse, a full-time shadow, and the sweetest, neediest, most adorable, annoying, and intelligent dog I have ever met. 😂 He keeps me on my toes, tests my patience, demands my attention, and somehow manages to make me love him even more every single day.

As my bond with Onyx grew, I started noticing how much joy, comfort, and confidence he brought into my life. He reminded me that being a dog mom could be more than a responsibility—it could be a lifestyle, a source of connection, and a reason to create unforgettable memories. I also realized that so many women share this same deep love for their dogs but may not always have a space where they can fully express it, connect with others, and celebrate who they are.

That is why I decided to move forward with Fly Ass Dog Mom. I wanted to create something that felt authentic, fun, and unapologetically us—a community where women can embrace their individuality, build genuine friendships, support one another, and make memories with their four-legged babies. This is about celebrating the bond we share with our dogs while also making room for the women behind the paws.

Onyx gave me the inspiration. I’m giving it a purpose. And together, we’re building something special as hell.
